But if you are new to the concept of NVC, learning and integrating the principles can be a bit overwhelming at first, especially if you don’t know where to start.

That’s why we created The NVC Beginner’s Pathway— an ongoing series of monthly emails and basic resources, designed to guide you forward every step of the way.

Learn NVC at Your Own Pace in the NVC Library

We’ve created a dedicated collection of videos in the NVC Library called the NVC Beginner’s Pathway. It offers a thoughtful starting point for learning Nonviolent Communication—bringing together essential concepts, practical examples, and supportive guidance to help you build confidence over time. You’re invited to explore at your own rhythm, return whenever you need, and let the practice gradually take root.

You may consider yourself a beginner if you:

• Are new to the four steps of the NVC process developed by Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD - Observations, Feelings, Needs, and Requests 
• Have limited understanding of the two primary components of NVC: Empathy and Honest Expression
• Understand NVC in theory, but don’t yet know how to put it into practice in daily life

While the offerings on our Beginner’s Pathway are designed for newcomers, seasoned NVC enthusiasts are very welcome to take advantage. It’s a great opportunity to get a refresher on some of the building blocks of Nonviolent Communication to reinvigorate and deepen your practice!
